Lighting
Hotel ballrooms tend to run dark: heavy drapes, deep carpet, a lot of warm indirect light. Plan on flash for the reception from the start. For getting ready, ask for a suite with a big window and get dressed near it earlier in the day, when the light is soft.

Portraits are easiest before guests arrive, while the ballroom is still empty. Main Street and Falls Park are a short walk away if you want a few outdoor frames. Ask the hotel's event team early which spaces you can use for portraits between the ceremony and the reception flip.
