Greer is easy to overlook as a wedding town, but downtown has a cluster of restored historic buildings used as event venues, and the Greer Station district counts eight wedding venues downtown. Just outside town you'll find farm-style venues with more outdoor space. Greer sits between Greenville and Spartanburg, which makes it a practical middle ground when guests are coming from both.

Season & light

Season choice depends on the venue. Historic indoor venues hold up year-round. Farm-style venues outside town follow the usual Upstate pattern: spring and fall are the comfortable seasons. Spring pollen can be heavy here, so if your ceremony is outside, ask the venue about its plan.

Planning notes

Downtown Greer is walkable enough for a short street-portrait walk between the ceremony and reception. Out-of-town guests often stay in Greenville or near GSP airport and drive or shuttle in. Ask your venue whether it has shuttle companies it likes working with.

Historic Greer Depot

Historic Greer Depot was built in 1913 as a passenger station and freight warehouse for the Piedmont & Northern Railway. After a restoration it reopened as an event venue in August 2021. The main indoor room is about 3,600 square feet, with ADA-accessible restrooms and a catering kitchen, and there's a 900-square-foot outdoor rose garden for a small ceremony, cocktail hour, or photos. Seated capacity is listed at up to 200.

The Davenport

The Davenport is an event hall on Trade Street in downtown Greer, in a building the venue dates to around 1898 from old photographs. The hall is about 2,500 square feet with hardwood floors and exposed brick, plus a kitchenette. Listings put it at roughly 140 guests for a seated dinner, or more for a standing reception. Outside vendors are welcome, and the venue offers its own bar service.

Aurora Farms Event Venue

Aurora Farms is a family-owned post-and-beam wedding venue on Milford Church Road in Taylors, a short drive from both Greenville and Greer. It seats up to 250 indoors and offers ceremonies outside by lighted weeping willow trees or inside, with an indoor option doubling as the rain plan. The venue includes a large inventory of decor and ceremony backdrops, in-house planning, and an on-site guest house, the Oak View Inn, that sleeps up to 22.
